Traffic and Highways
The Traffic and Highways portfolio is currently being managed by Adrian Lockwood.
The remit includes the following:
- Keeping abreast of developments in traffic and highways matters within the district covered by West Berkshire Council (WBC)
- Reporting to the Parish Council any WBC traffic and highway policies, problems or developments which could be relevant to Streatley or its immediate surroundings
- Notifying WBC of any failings in the provision or maintenance of highways and traffic systems, and monitoring progress in the resolution of such failings
- Advising WBC of any specific proposals or issues raised by the Parish Council
- Acting as the initial contact point for residents of Streatley on matters concerning Highways and Traffic in West Berkshire
Ultimate responsibility for the condition of roads in the area is held with West Berks Council. Issues concerning pavements, potholes, traffic lights etc. should be referred to Streetcare at the WBC web site.

Streatley Parish Council now have access to trained members
of the public who can set-up and use Speeding Intervention
Devices. These are the smiling road side displays that alert
drivers that they are going too fast. If you would like to
make use of this facility then please get in touch with the
Clerk with contact details
