The Morrell Room - A unique and historic Grade 2 listed building
The Morrell Room was commissioned for the benefit of the villagers of Streatley in 1896 by Mr and Mrs George Morrell. An existing malthouse and laundry were converted to a Gentleman's Club and reading room. The exterior remains largely as it was over a hundred years ago and great pains have been taken to preserve the character and atmosphere of the interior.

Following a questionnaire to which over 175 responses from local people were received, a programme of work to follow up and deliver as many as possible of the suggestions made was undertaken in 2011. The following improvements have been delivered:

• A new entrance hall
• Restoration of the gallery
• Extended changing facilities
• Provision of flexible, modular staging
• A refitted kitchen
• Refurbished toilets

The Morrell Room is available for hire by local organisations and individuals. If you wish to make a booking please download a copy of the Hire Agreement and return this to the Caretaker.

If your event involves the supply of alcohol you will need to apply for and be granted a Temporary Event Notice.
